Venezuelan president calls for preparation for any contingency

Through his Telegram account, the head of State summarized aspects of his press conference the day before, in which he reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Republic will not accept psychological warfare, blackmail, or threats from the United States.

“We must prepare ourselves firmly to face whatever comes, whenever it comes, and however it comes!” the president emphasized on social media, reaffirming that “we are people of our word, dialogue, and peace, but we will not give in to psychological warfare, blackmail, or threats.”

Maduro stated that after five weeks of aggression, “some media outlets are reporting that tensions with the United States and the Caribbean are increasing” and asked what to do in the face of eight ships and a nuclear submarine targeting Venezuela.

“Legitimately defend ourselves!” he asserted, in addition to uniting and empowering the Venezuelan people.

The president said he was absolutely certain that “we will guarantee sovereignty and preserve peace.”

Referring to the alleged attack by the United States on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea with eleven crew members and loaded with drugs—as reported by Washington days ago and shown in a video—Maduro stated that “it requires an immediate investigation at the highest level by the White House.”

He emphasized that both countries possess the “necessary experience in the Interception of smugglers to determine the truth of what happened.”
