Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel denounced the multidimensional aggression strategy implemented by the United States government against the island.
During an exclusive interview with an international network, the head of state explained that this offensive combines ideological and cultural components with a slanderous media narrative. The president affirmed that Washington’s central objective is to conceal its direct responsibility for the structural challenges facing the Caribbean nation.

The head of state asserted that U.S. authorities are applying a collective punishment that he describes as an expression of genocide and an international crime. This policy of maximum suffocation seeks to break the sovereign will of the Cuban state.
Díaz-Canel detailed the severe impact of this escalation of pressure and financial blockades, noting that imperial reprisals have led to the withdrawal of important foreign companies, resulting in a sharp deterioration of economic and productive processes. In the energy sector, the situation is critical: the country has gone six months without the arrival of fuel tankers, registering only one ship sent by Russia as humanitarian aid.
Faced with this complex scenario, the Cuban government is implementing socio-economic transformations based on principles of public debate and citizen participation. The president specified that these reforms seek to protect the population without, under any circumstances, relegating the fundamental principles of social justice.
Despite the persistence of the blockade and the false accusations regarding destabilizing platforms, Díaz-Canel reaffirmed the historic commitment to maintaining channels of dialogue. They seek to advance toward a civilized relationship between neighbors based on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
The president emphasized that Cuba’s self-determination, independence, and internal political system are not subject to debate, embracing the diplomatic path taught by Fidel Castro as the ideal mechanism for preserving regional peace.
Through his official channels, the Caribbean leader asserted that the true danger to humanity is the philosophy of plunder that dictates the actions of the transnational far right in warfare, describing this initiative as a new and dangerous version of McCarthyism (a period of intense political persecution and repression in the United States between 1950 and 1954), which evokes methods of fascism and Operation Condor.
The Cuban head of state described the imperialist right and its lackeys as dangerously radical, holding them responsible for international atrocities such as the genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, economic blockades, the persecution of migrants, and bombings of civilian targets.
These statements were a response to the recent pronouncement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who categorized leftist forces as a civilizational threat and a central target of the Trump Administration’s security policy, in a rhetorical strategy to divert public attention.
