Indian Film Festival continues in Havana

Together with the Indian Embassy in Havana, the event seeks to disseminate the cultural richness of that country with the presentation of 16 feature films ranging from historical epics, biographical dramas, romances, and social narratives.

Bollywood Cinema and beyond is a vibrant blend of history, culture, and contemporary life, Ambassador T. Armstrong Changsan emphasized in a prior press conference.

For this Friday, the selected feature films were Tanhaji: The Usung Warrior (2020) and Tanu weds Manu Returs (2015), at the Riviera cinema; Dangal (2016) and Sehar (2005) at the Infanta Multicine; Jab We Met (2007) and Mary Kom (2014) at the Charles Chaplin Theater, respecting the regular programming schedule.

The activity is part of the strengthening of diplomatic and cultural relations between Cuba and India, which are celebrating their 65th anniversary.

We want to be present in Bollywood, because we believe that on the island of music (Cuba), musical cinema must be a possible strength, said Alexis Triana, president of ICAIC, at a press conference.

The Indian Film Festival will continue its programming until September 21; details are available on ICAIC’s social media.
