Venezuela and Cuba seen through a book on Chavez and Fidel

The book was launched by Raul Cazal, Vice Minister of Development and Cultural Economy at the Ministry of Culture, during the 16th Caracas Book Fair, and its edition was in charge of the Supreme Commander Hugo Chavez Frias Higher Education Institute of Thought and the Fidel Castro Ruz Center.

Ramon Lopez, director of the Chavez Institute, and Evelyn Rodriguez, Publishing coordinator of that institution, also participated.

A press release from the National Book Center (CENAL) noted that the book “reveals the history and nuances of the relationship between Venezuela and Cuba through the eyes of Sanchez Otero,” who is described as a privileged witness for 15 years as an ambassador.

It indicated that this was a crucial moment in the politics of both countries.

Cazal emphasized that the book, in addition to containing anecdotes about the relationship between the revolutionary commanders, from their first meeting in 1994, “documents how their encounters influenced the development of a Latin American revolution.”
