Currently, far-right President Javier Milei is pushing budget cuts and other measures to the detriment of people with disabilities, retirees, and other vulnerable groups.

During the protest, the “Permanent Forum for the Promotion and Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” delivered a document to Health Minister Mario Lugones explaining the serious situation faced by people with disabilities and public officials in the “Incluir Salud” program that provides them with services.

In that document, the Forum denounced that public officials have not received their full salaries since October 2025, although some partial payments have been made with significant delays.

“For some time, the delivery of medicines from Incluir Salud to its beneficiaries has been deficient. The situation has become more complicated since allegations of bribes in the purchase of medicines,” it added.

“It is imperative that the delivery of medicines and diapers to people with disabilities be regularized,” the Forum stated, warning about the deterioration of living conditions for people with disabilities.

The text reads, “Valentina Bassi speaks out against the government. The Argentine actress addressed the proposed changes to the Emergency Disability Law by the national government: ‘They’re doing all this to provoke. They’re liars, criminals, and provocateurs,’ she stated.”

Citizens also rejected a bill sent by Milei to Congress to modify the emergency law that protects people with disabilities.

Among other things, the far-right president seeks to establish a mandatory re-registration process for pension beneficiaries, who would have to resubmit documentation supporting their health condition, economic situation, and work history.

If these requirements are not met, payments to retirees could be automatically interrupted. In addition, the Milei proposal establishes other limitations, such as the inability to receive the pension if the beneficiary has formal employment.

The Forum denounced that these types of provisions come in a context in which the Argentine government is cutting the budget of the National Disability Agency (ANDis) by suspending payments to citizens in vulnerable situations.

Previously, before Federal Criminal Court No. 5, Argentine citizens filed a criminal complaint for breach of duties and abuse of authority against President Milei, the health minister and other former officials.

Organizations such as the Civil Association for Equality and Justice warn that the Milei bill violates fundamental rights, international standards, and previous judicial decisions. His proposal also represents a setback in terms of inclusion and social protection.
