The aid, which includes food, medicines, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, power generators, tools, materials for temporary shelters, and specialized emergency equipment, arrived between last Wednesday and Tuesday through the airports of Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, and Pereira, the National Directorate of Taxes and Customs (DIAN) detailed in a statement.
It was sent by governments, international organizations, cooperation entities, and humanitarian groups from the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, El Salvador, Peru, the Israeli occupation, India, Paraguay, China, and Spain.

Part of the assistance is being delivered directly to Chocó, the department where the earthquake’s epicenter was located in the municipality of San José del Palmar, and which also suffered damage in its capital, Quibdó, and other municipalities.
The assistance is particularly significant in Chocó, one of the country’s most impoverished departments, where 67.4% of its population was in monetary poverty in 2024 – the highest rate among Colombian departments, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).
President Abelardo de la Espriella, in a midday balance on Wednesday, reported 314 fatalities, while the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) confirmed it has received 319 bodies and identified the same number announced by the president. The earthquake, according to the government, affected 15 departments and 471 municipalities, with 262,154 people affected in 147,464 families, 4,437 injured, and 262 still missing.
