Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Cuban children on Monday — International Children’s Day.
“We congratulate Cuban girls and boys on International Children’s Day. We care for and respect them for what they are: a treasure.”
“José Martí aptly said that hope resides in them, and that they are the ones who know how to love; in this last definition, the Apostle was speaking of nobility, sincerity, and an inventiveness in the face of the world that adults should always contemplate and even imitate.”
The president also referred to the Cuban government’s commitment to “protect them from so much barbarity that the world suffers and that threatens us today.”
“The joy of every Cuban child is sacred, and we will continue to defend it despite the fierce blockade with which imperialism rages.”
