The Members’ Section of Coop. Liguria in Vado Ligure will organize the public event “Men of Their Time: Marco Rubio” this Friday, July 3rd, at 5:30 p.m. in the Punto d’Incontro Coop Hall in Vado Aurelia (Via alla Costa, first floor). Admission is free.
The event is promoted in collaboration with the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship, through the “Granma” Circle of Celle Ligure/Savona, and the USEI APS (Union of Solidarity of Ecuadorians in Italy).
The event will feature a presentation by Roberto Casella, president of the Italy-Cuba Association, who will discuss more than half a century of geopolitical relations between the United States and Cuba. The central focus of the day will be the presentation of the essay “Marco Rubio, an Uncontrollable Mythomaniac,” by Cuban investigative journalist Hedelberto López Blanch, published by Ediciones Punto Rosso.
The book analyzes the political trajectory of the current U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, placing it within its historical and political context, and offers insights into the roots and consequences of Washington’s foreign policy toward Cuba and Latin America over the past few decades.
The initiative is part of Coop Liguria’s “Corsi&Percorsi” cultural program, which aims to promote responsible consumption, culture, cooperation, and social solidarity in the region.
Following the book presentation, a discussion with the audience will take place, and at the end of the event, the organizing entities will offer refreshments to the attendees.
