On Wednesday, 192 Venezuelans returned to their country on a flight that landed at Jose Antonio Anzoategui Airport, located in the city of Barcelona.

Through actions carried out by the Great Mission Return to the Homeland, 99 men, 32 women and 61 children returned from the United States.
Upon their arrival, the citizens were received by institutional authorities and members of citizen security forces for immediate health evaluations and the corresponding immigration procedures.
The Great Mission Return to the Homeland reaffirmed the implementation of a comprehensive protection protocol designed to accompany the transfer of each compatriot to their respective homes.
This social program was created in 2018 by President Nicolas Maduro and aims to reintegrate the migrant population into the country’s productive and educational processes. So far, the Great Mission Return to the Homeland has facilitated the return of more than 1.6 million Venezuelans.
The Great Mission Return to the Homeland implements a strategic model of social assistance and protection aimed at safeguarding Venezuelan citizens who, as a consequence of the U.S. coercive measures, were driven to migrate and faced conditions of social vulnerability abroad.
Through the Venezuelan state’s Consular Network, the Bolivarian government intervenes in a timely manner to provide comprehensive assistance to nationals who voluntarily request to return to their homeland, coordinating with various institutions for their immediate inclusion in social policies.
In this regard, the Great Mission Return to the Homeland coordinates among national and subnational institutions to neutralize the effects of induced migration. It facilitates family reunification, community socioeconomic reintegration and the full exercise of human rights by the returned population.
