Cuba-Unicef ​​project will benefit more than nine thousand children

More than nine thousand children in Cuba will be the main beneficiaries of a new national collaboration project with UNICEF, whose goals combine cultural purposes and investments in infrastructure.

Data released by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirm that the initiative includes the strengthening of educational strategies, the rehabilitation of 21 daycare centers, as well as the opening and improvement of another 80 facilities for minors.

In addition, it plans to help the incorporation into work of some nine thousand women, including those who live in vulnerable situations. Meanwhile, more than 2,500 families will strengthen their capacities for positive, co-responsible parenting free of violence.

The project also includes the promotion of alliances with national and local networks on care, female entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility.

It project will have national scope and is coordinated with the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Investment, Education, and Labor and Social Security, as well as with the Federation of Cuban Women.
